There seems to be a movement throughout Europe for certificated proof of sailing skills which more and more people are encountering, so it seemed prudent to undertake an ICC assessment. Although a sailing cruiser owner for over 25 years, actual practice may omit some situations and some skills may not have been practised as much as they should be.

Weymouth Sailing School’s offer of a refresher course, teaching modern practice and regulations prior to an ICC assessment, was for me an ideal way to bring skills up to current standards and meet the minimum level of certification.  I found that I did learn a lot due I’m sure to Adrian’s teaching style which is both patient and enthusiastic, and a very thorough practical exploration of skills in a variety of situations. An excellent course and assessment which is to be highly recommended.
