We have a friendly experienced team of skippers and trainers at Weymouth Sailing. They’re local characters with a vast knowledge or all things nautical! Find out more about them below:
Euan
Our Chief Instructor Euan started sailing some 50 years ago! He also spent 35 years as a professional seafarer with the Royal Navy, both as a seaman officer and helicopter pilot who saw action in the Falklands War. He has seen much of the world by sea and crossed the Atlantic twice under sail. Euan was a member of the Royal Navy Offshore Racing Team and a Joint Service Nicholsan 55 and Challenge 67 skipper, logging over 22,000 miles in yachts and motor boats. He is also our Radar and VHF Instructor, with great experience of using these equipments on ships and aircraft. He was the last CO of the Portland SAR Helicopter Squadron, so is uniquely placed to bring his experience and skills to Weymouth Sailing School. Euan lives in Weymouth and has sailed the local waters since 1982. His main attribute is his enduring sense of humour!
